FAQ

Most Asked Questions About Direct to Film Printing & 403 Printing Terms and Conditions:

Direct to Film (DTF) printing is an emerging technology in the world of custom apparel and textiles. It offers a range of benefits, but also prompts many questions for those new to the process. Here are some of the most commonly asked questions about DTF printing:

What is Direct to Film Printing?

Direct to Film printing is a process where designs are printed onto a specialty film and then transferred onto fabrics using a heat press. This method is popular for its ability to produce vibrant colors and fine details on a variety of materials.

What Are the Benefits of DTF Printing?
  • Versatility: DTF can print on a wide variety of fabrics and materials.
  • Vibrant Colors: The process allows for rich colors and high detail.
  • Cost-Effective for Small or production run's: Ideal for small or large production runs or custom projects.
  • No Pre-Treatment Required: Unlike DTG, DTF does not require fabric pre-treatment or high polyester count like that of sublimation.
What Equipment is Needed for Applying DTF Transfers and UV direct to film decals?

To start with DTF transfers, you will need:
  • Commercial Heat Press: A specialized heat press capable of applying high pressure for textile direct to film transfers.
  • Regarding the use of heat presses for commercial Direct to Film (DTF) transfers, please note that heat presses such as HTVRont or those primarily designed for general crafting purposes are not recommended. These types of equipment typically do not allow for the necessary, consistent pressure required for proper adhesion and durability of commercial DTF transfers. Using such equipment may compromise the quality and longevity of the final application.
How Do I Ensure the Best Quality DTF Prints?

To achieve the best quality prints:
  • Use High-Resolution Images: Ensure your designs are high-resolution 300DPI.
  • Font size must be 3+ PTS or bigger in size to properly print and adhere in both Direct to film transfers for textiles and UV direct to film stickers.
  • Follow Manufacturer Guidelines: Adhere to the recommended heat and pressure settings during transfers and application.

  • Transfer Defects: Please be aware that any defective transfers must be communicated to us within 24 hours of receiving your order. Furthermore, the transfers must remain uncut. This is essential to ensure we have the necessary information and can efficiently process a resolution for you.

  • Shipping:
403 Printing is not responsible for any issues, delays, or lost orders caused by or occurring during freight or shipping.

Specifically, we cannot provide reprints for orders that are delayed in shipping, as these factors are outside of our control once the package is transferred to the carrier.

By understanding these aspects and terms of conditions of our Direct to Film printing services and transfers, you can better navigate its capabilities and limitations to create high quality custom apparel and branded merchandise.
